"By establishing of the Salonika Front in 1916, Serbian flyers were allotted to French escadrilles, and so in composition of Nieuport Section they met with this type of fighter planes. During air battles, flying Nieuports, they attained their first air victories, and, in the Salonika Front break operation acted in attack and ground support planes against Bulgarian infantry. After the W.W.I, Nieuports were utilized in newly formed the Military Aeronautics of the Kingdom of SHS. Due their worn out condition planes of this type were 1920 withdrawn from service.
Exhibited plane, got by exchange between the Air Museum and noted aircraft collector, Frenchman Jean Baptiste Salis, realized in 1982, is a replica with authentic original engine, propeller and machine gun."
